BOMBANANA Player Count and Three-Role Setup
BOMBANANA player count is exactly three for the core online co-op design. Learn the Blind, Deaf, and Mute roles and what other party sizes lack.
FAQ
How many players does BOMBANANA! need?
Can BOMBANANA! be played by two or four players?
Quick answer
BOMBANANA! is designed for exactly three players in its core online co-op setup. The team has three information roles, Blind Monkey, Deaf Monkey, and Mute Monkey. The current records do not confirm a solo mode, two-player scaling, four-player expansion, or local co-op.
The three Monkey roles guide explains the information split. The online co-op guide covers lobby and communication preparation, while the local co-op page keeps shared-screen questions separate.
The three roles
Blind Monkey is the bomb operator. This role handles the physical controls and may receive tactile information that the other players cannot access in the same way. The operator needs a clear action and a confirmation before pressing, cutting, moving, or toggling.
Mute Monkey reads the manual and chooses the rule branch. This role cannot simply speak the answer through normal voice chat, so the team needs visible or agreed signals. The manual reader should ask for missing fields rather than resolve an incomplete state.
Deaf Monkey can see and speak, yet does not hear the voice channel. This role often bridges what the manual reader communicates and what the bomb operator needs to do. Visual cues and fixed signals keep the bridge connected to the other two players.
Why the count is exact
The game’s challenge comes from dividing the information and communication channels between the three roles. Removing one player changes the relay, and adding a fourth player would require a confirmed role or spectator design that the current records do not describe.
That does not mean a future update could never change the party size. It means the current product question has a precise answer. Plan for three people when evaluating the full release, and mark another count To be confirmed rather than promising a workaround.
Session preparation for three
Before launching a bomb, choose one person for each role. Agree on yes, no, repeat, stop, left, right, and solved. The communication guide recommends naming the module, reporting its current state, letting the manual reader choose one action, repeating it, and confirming before the operator moves.
Start with Campaign when the team is new. The full release has 30 handcrafted Campaign levels, while Endless uses procedural waves and Custom changes the challenge conditions. The gameplay modes guide explains how those modes fit the same three-player loop.
What remains To be confirmed
Solo mode, AI teammates, two-player scaling, four-player sessions, local co-op, split-screen, and a spectator role are not confirmed in the current records. Online Co-op for three players is the stable planning fact.
If a later Steam update changes the party-size field, revise this page with the date and the exact wording. Until then, a group should bring three players and use the official Steam route rather than rely on an unofficial promise.
